Acne Pills and Supplements Are They Good For Me?

There are many acne pills and supplements which can both help to clear existing acne and prevent future flare-ups. One of the most well-known acne pills is Accutane (isotretinoin). Often used for severe acne, Accutane has several serious side-effects but is also very effective for acne treatment.

Some of the possible side effects from using Accutane:

  • Birth defects

  • Depression

Zinc supplements will likely be beneficial for acne sufferers. Zinc is found in many different foods, but since there is only as much zinc in foods as there was in the soil the food was grown in, and modern day farmers use fertilizers with little to no zinc, many people need more of this mineral in their bodies. Omega-3 fatty acids should also be supplemented in one's diet, if fish is not a regular part of someone's diet. These acids have anti-inflammatory impacts on the body and also provide antibacterial effects.
